  • Christopher Hedberg
  • Mr. Hedberg is chief financial officer for CarVal Investors. In addition to leading finance and operations globally for the firm, Mr. Hedberg also manages capital formation activities, including investor relations and fund financing strategy. Mr. Hedberg joined Cargill in 1996 and has held a variety of financial management positions, including serving as global controller for CarVal’s corporate credit business and manager in Cargill’s internal audit department. Prior to joining Cargill, Mr. Hedberg was with Dain Bosworth. Mr. Hedberg received his M.B.A. from the University of St. Thomas and his B.S. in finance, magna cum laude from the University of Colorado.  He currently serves on the board of directors of the Managed Funds Association (MFA).

  • Gareth Edwards
  • Mr. Edwards is a managing director for CarVal Investors. Based in London, Mr. Edwards is responsible for capital formation and investor relations in Europe and the Middle East. Prior to joining CarVal in 2011, Mr. Edwards worked in a similar role for K2 Advisors Ltd., a leading fund of hedge funds. Mr. Edwards also worked in the equity and emerging markets derivatives groups at J.P. Morgan for 10 years before migrating to the alternative asset industry. Mr. Edwards received his B.A. in chemistry from Oxford University.

  • Kerry Fauver
  • Ms. Fauver is a managing director for CarVal Investors, responsible for global fundraising and investor relations.  Prior to joining CarVal in 2006, Ms. Fauver was a marketing specialist at HarbourVest Partners in Boston.  Ms. Fauver also served as director of marketing and business development for DSFX, a corporate investigations and security firm.  Ms. Fauver began her career in consumer marketing for public relations firms Hill & Knowlton and LaForce & Stevens.  She earned a B.A. from Hamilton College with honors in American studies.

  • Matthew Hanson
  • Mr. Hanson is a managing director for CarVal Investors, responsible for global fund raising and investor relations. He is also responsible for drafting and negotiating the firm’s offering and governance documents as well as managing outside counsel relationships. Mr. Hanson has also participated in acquisition and related due diligence for commercial real estate assets in North America. Prior to joining CarVal in 2003, Mr. Hanson was an associate with the Carlyle Group in Washington, D.C. and was a manager at Deloitte & Touche, working in the audit and attestation group. Mr. Hanson has a B.S.B.A. with honors in accounting from the University of South Dakota. He is an active member of PREA and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive).

  • Ryan Savell
  • Mr. Savell is a managing director for CarVal Investors, responsible for global fundraising and investor relations. Prior to joining CarVal in 2007, Mr. Savell was a product specialist with Dresdner RCM in San Francisco working with the small cap equity and international equity investment teams, and was an associate with Dresdner RCM in the institutional sales and client service group. Mr. Savell has a B.A. in economics and political science from Bucknell University.

  • Mark Sorensen
  • Mr. Sorensen is a managing director for CarVal Investors, responsible for global fundraising and investor relations.  Mr. Sorensen joined CarVal in 2004 as a managing director in Corporate Securities, responsible for managing short- and long-term investments. He began his career in credit trading in 1990, and has worked in New York and London for JP Morgan, Bear Stearns, and Toronto Dominion. Mr. Sorensen also served in the U.S. Navy for four years, receiving an honorable discharge. He received his B.A. in political economy from Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, graduating with honors.

  • Jonathan Dencker-Rasmussen
  • Mr. Dencker-Rasmussen is a vice president for CarVal Investors. Based in London, he focuses on capital formation in Europe and the Middle East. Prior to joining CarVal, Mr. Dencker-Rasmussen worked in a similar role at Deutsche Bank in the alternative asset management division. Prior to Deutsche Bank, he worked for Threadmark, a London and New York-based placement agent. Mr. Dencker-Rasmussen started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers focusing on Transaction services. He holds a B.Sc. in Economics and Business from Copenhagen Business School and is fluent in Danish, Spanish and Italian.
