Mr. Bogart is the general counsel and chief compliance officer for CarVal Investors. He oversees all of CarVal Investors’ legal and compliance matters across the globe. Prior to joining CarVal in 2007, Mr. Bogart was a partner at Faegre & Benson in Minneapolis where he practiced for 16 years, specializing in real estate, finance and joint venture law. He received his J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law, graduating with highest honors, and his B.S. degree in marketing and accounting from the University of Colorado.
Mr. Chung is managing director of tax for CarVal Investors. He and his team are responsible for ensuring that CarVal complies with all applicable tax laws globally and for advising on transactions and fund structuring. Prior to joining CarVal Investors in 2012, Mr. Chung was with Credit Suisse, first as the head of the tax advisory team for the Americas region based in New York, and then as the head of a cross-border equity derivatives structuring team based in London. Mr. Chung received his B.A. in philosophy from Harvard University and his J.D. from the University of Chicago. He is conversant in Korean and German. Mr. Chung also has the FSA investment manager certification in the U.K.
Mr. Cooley is an executive advisor for CarVal Investors. Mr. Cooley joined Cargill’s Financial Markets Group in 1997 and CarVal in 2001. He has held several finance, accounting and reporting positions in the U.S. and Japan. Most recently, he served as chief financial officer for CarVal. Mr. Cooley began his career as an accountant for Honeywell. He received his B.S. in business and accounting from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive).
Ms. Folkman is managing director of marketing and global communications for CarVal Investors. She joined CarVal in 2004 and is responsible for leading the group’s branding and marketing strategy and activities. Prior to joining CarVal, Ms. Folkman was director of public relations for Select Comfort. Before that, she owned her own marketing firm and spent several years in marketing communications at Padilla Speer Beardsley and with Burlington Northern. Ms. Folkman holds a B.A. in Journalism with a concentration in Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn., where she has also earned extensive coursework toward her M.B.A.
Mr. Fry is a principal and chief risk officer for CarVal Investors. He is responsible for oversight of the portfolio and identification, quantification and communication of material risks. Prior to joining CarVal in 1997, Mr. Fry was employed in London in the risk measurement function of Credit Suisse Financial Products, a major derivatives dealer, and in the financial risk management practice of Deloitte. Mr. Fry received his B.Sc. in mathematics, operational research, statistics and economics from the University of Warwick, UK and qualified as a UK Chartered Accountant.
Mr. Hedberg is chief financial officer for CarVal Investors. In addition to leading finance and operations globally for the firm, Mr. Hedberg also manages capital formation activities, including investor relations and fund financing strategy. Mr. Hedberg joined Cargill in 1996 and has held a variety of financial management positions, including serving as global controller for CarVal’s corporate credit business and manager in Cargill’s internal audit department. Prior to joining Cargill, Mr. Hedberg was with Dain Bosworth. Mr. Hedberg received his M.B.A. from the University of St. Thomas and his B.S. in finance, magna cum laude from the University of Colorado. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Managed Funds Association (MFA).
Ms. Ogren is managing director of human resources for CarVal Investors. She has over 28 years of experience in the field, focusing in the insurance and financial industries. She joined Cargill in 2002 where she supported various Risk Management and Financial Solutions (RMFS) businesses including Black River and Power and Gas Markets. Prior to joining Cargill, she was a Senior HR Manager at Accenture. Ms. Ogren is a graduate of the University of Iowa.
